PRINTerpretation presents selected works by Patrick Giroux

Patrick Giroux is a graphic designer and illustrator living in Lawrence, Kansas. He started
designing posters when asked to make one for a friend’s band, and continued to make them
having fallen in love with the printmaking/letterpress process. He is a contributor to Johnny
America
, a small literary zine. He has worked as a designer at the Lawrence Journal-World
and an art director at lawrence.com. Patrick currently works in Kansas City, and spends his
off-time in Lawrence with his lovely wife, Caterina, and furry dog, Frances.

Join us as visual artist Misha Kligman discusses his new body of work “The Scent of Time”. A reflection on his continuous struggle to understand the insistent nature of nostalgic longing tinted by a history of exile and the knowledge of genocide.

“In my everyday life I attempt to combat the forgetting and my own trivialization of history that time and distance only exacerbate. I believe that the history in which we are implicated should be an ever -present force on our consciousness and personal choices. Through the work I aim to clarify and reflect on that fundamental belief.” – Misha Kligman, 2010

From the organizers (QuintEssential Gallery):
This will be a retrospective show featuring older and new works by the members of Q5 Gallery and some added guests. We will be hanging art on both the upper and lower levels of Henry’s on 8th with opening festivities Final Friday, March 25th with the art hanging for the majority of April.

Then we will return to Quinton’s with “Just Hangin ” for April with our usual open call, hang the best show possible format.
