Style: Fall 2010 Milan

March 8, 2010 Fashion

Milan Fall 2010 fashion week brought us a return to the classics, with many designer concentrating on basic outerwear. Not to say I was bored in any way, a Milan basic is not always so simple. While all collections produced wearable goods for today, many contained obvious references to past decades. We saw hints of the 1940′s in Alberta Ferreti, Albino and Luisa Beccaria; obvious nods to the 60′s with Prada; Emilio Pucci brought the glam of the 1970′s; MaxMara delivered the exaggerated volume of the 80′s; and references to the 90′s came from Gucci.

Below are my favorite collections from Milan fashion week followed by images of my favorite looks from other designers. Next comes Paris!

Dolce & Gabbana

Runway Style: Chanel Fall 2011

March 9, 2011

Karl Lagerfeld’s Fall 2011 Chanel collection is perfectly dark. Almost a grungy elegance where high meets low (or at least the idea of low – this is still Chanel). These clothes feel much more accessible than Chanel of the past, almost ready to just hit the streets. See more on Style.com Tweet PrintShare
