Artist Shout Out: Spin Thread by Marañón

January 27, 2010 Art, The Rathaus

Although finding out much about the woman behind the work has been a challenge, I am in love with the handmade accessories of Marañón. With most pieces made to order from her Etsy shop Spin Thread, be sure that any purchase is a truly original and well-crafted work of art. Check out more of Marañón’s work on Flickr.

Watch: Will Arnett’s Interview with Creepy Hipster Matt Zaller

National Lampoon’s Matt Zaller, specialist in the art of creepy-but-funny interviews is back. In this edition Zaller sits down with Will Arnett to chat about his upcoming role in the rather lame-looking romantic comedy When in Rome. But instead of talking about the film the conversation quickly shifts to dicks and continues to digress from there into hipsters, creeps, Scrabble, New York, weird handshakes, shoes and Dr. Scholls inserts.

If you think that’s funny, check out Zaller’s equally hilarious/creepy interviews with Jason Seigel and Matt Damon.

Free Music: Inlets “Bright Orange Air”

January 26, 2010 Art, The Rathaus

A self-proclaimed worrier, childhood choir member and unfocused student of many instruments, Sebastian Krueger combines baroque pop embellishments with lo-fi intimacy under the name Inlets. “Bright Orange Air,” the first single from Inlets’ forthcoming album Inner Arbiter, is about the psychotropic effects of municipal lighting and is an exciting expansion of the winding guitars and charming Smog-like arrangements Kreuger first displayed on 2006′s The Vestibule EP.

Inner Arbiter is out April 20, 2010 on twosyllable Records and will feature contributions from Angel Deradoorian of Dirty Projectors and Zach Condon of Beirut.
