• Go See: It Starts With Murder!

From the creators:
“You’ve heard of low-budget movies? How about a NO-budget movie? Shot for 500 bucks over a three year stretch, It Starts With Murder! combines nonexistent production values with a flamboyant trash-culture aesthetic to tell a story that is equal parts John Waters and Mario Bava.

“The premise: A black-gloved killer stalks the guests of a fabulous resort. It’s up to world famous detective Miss Mandrake to solve this string of brutal slayings… But can she unmask the murderer before he strikes again? More importantly, does she even want to?

“Starring Curvacia VaVoom of The Spook Lights in her first headlining role, It Starts With Murder! is a sleazy melodrama taken to the most horrific extremes. Keep your eyes peeled for standout performances by members of Lawrence’s own EMU Theater troupe, as well as cameos from members of Weird Wounds, Stull, and Betelgeuse Betelgeuse Betelgeuse.

“It Starts With Murder! screens on Wednesday, October 21st at 6:30 pm at Liberty Hall (644 Massachusetts in Lawrence, KS ). Tickets are a measly $1– how can you beat that?”

Starring: Curvacia VaVoom, Adri Pendergrass, Nathan Cadman, Misty Nuckolls, Andrew Stowers, James Hogwood, Kevin Corcoran, Ryan Nessmith, Aaron Larkin, and Shawn Franklin
Screenplay By: Scary Manilow and Curvacia VaVoom
