Fashionable Citizens of Lawrence, KS:
This Thursday, April 23rd, before you head to the Drunken Sailor’s Tailor fashion show at Abe & Jake’s, be sure to check out Spring Student Night at the Spencer Museum of Art (1301 Mississippi) for, yes, another fashion show.
The theme of this year’s Student Night is “Art on the Green,” inspired by the Spencer’s currently running ecology-based exhibitions. The event includes free food, live music, artist demonstrations, raffles, and a sustainable fashion show held at 7pm in the Central Court. The runway will feature work from student and faculty designers, plus several local vendors, including Magic Carpet Traveler, Eco Boutique, and White Chocolate.
Museum galleries will also be open for students to view the exhibitions Climate Change at the Poles, Trees & Other Ramifications: Branches in Nature and Culture, and A Tradition Redefined: Modern and Contemporary Chinese Ink Paintings from the Chu-tsing Li Collection, 1950-2000.
