The Solidarity Revolutionary Center and Radical Library has moved. As of March 15th they have been operating out of a new location at 13 East 8th Street (next to Henry’s) in Lawrence, KS. The Solidarity Center is opening the doors to their new location on Saturday, March 28th from 7-11pm for their Grand Re-Opening Party, an event they promise will be filled with “music, food and fun.” Please go and donate a few bucks, Solidarity is a not-for-profit organization so they are always in need of some extra cash.
If this is the first you’ve heard of Solidarity allow The Rathaus to provide some background information on this positive group of activists, community organizers, and free thinkers.
The Solidarity Center is an all volunteer organization that provides the Lawrence, KS community with:
- Over 4,000 rare and radical books available for checkout including works by The Rathaus favorites Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn
- Over 5,000 magazines, periodicals, pamphlets, zines, and other publications available for use within the space
- Monthly events including nationally-renowned speakers, workshops, teach-ins, live shows, and art shows
- Free internet access (wireless or through public computers in the computer lab)
- Free community space for local organizations to hold meetings or other events
- Free food pantry stocked through donations
