As advertised, The Rathaus stopped by Wonder Fair on September 26th to cover “In a Stranger’s House,” new works by Ilenia Madelaire. Tricia Rock photographed the opening and brought back these great images of the work.
We were immediately drawn to Madelaire’s use of negative space, which causes faceless figures similar to the work of Henry Darger to be completely disconnected from their surroundings. Each delicately painted scene reminds the viewer of a distorted memory or dream you may barely remember.
All works are acrylic paint on poster board. Ilenia Madelaire resides in Florida after graduating from the University of Kansas. That is all we know about her but we hope to arrange an interview soon. Stay tuned.
Please contact Wonder Fair for all sales inquires.
