It’s almost too much. Constant stimulation and direction; entertainment, advertisements, and the internet (guilty), actually it is too much. It’s rare that you get a moment of respite from decision making. What does this mean? Do I want to buy it? Do I agree? Can I afford the time? Do I have the money? What do they want from me?
ffffound.com is a break from the forced implications of experience. You can just look at stuff, and nobody’s telling you what to do. Watch out though, when you don’t have anyone to whistle you back from recess, you may never return.
ffffound.com describes itself on its wiki page:
FFFFOUND! is a web service that not only allows the users to post and share their favorite images found on the web, but also dynamically recommends each user’s tastes and interests for an inspirational image-bookmarking experience!!
I don’t know what a site with such good taste is doing using so many exclamation marks, but they can be pardoned in exchange for an invitation to the site. ffffound.com is an exclusive invite only website, but that’s what makes it so intriguing. Anonymous people that have been chosen by anonymous people to post more often than not, anonymous images that represent ambiguous intentions. This simple and sophisticated bookmarking site needs to come with a disclaimer: if you are curious you may get lost, set a timer and go in knowing you have to come back out.
